On 5th May, 2009, ASME UET arranged 3rd ASME Super Skill Cad Contest 2009. Mr. Athar was the event manager.
This contest consisted of two competitions. One was of 2-D Drafting while the other one was of 3-D Modeling. Unlike previous contests 2-D drafting was included for the first time. Both contests had registration fee of Rs 100. The judges for this event were

2-D Drafting:

Around fifty students from Mechanical, Mechatronics, Industrial, Civil and Architecture department took part in it. An isometric view of an object was given and students were asked to make its three different views. The software used for drawing was AutoCad.. The given drawing was a professional one and it covered almost all portions of AutoCad. The allotted time was 45 minutes.

3-D Modeling:

About thirty five students from Mechanical, Mechatronics and Industrial department competed for this contest. Two softwares, Solid Edge and Solid Works, were used for 3D Modeling. Students were asked to make a three dimensional view of given object.

In the end, an award ceremony was held and the winners were appreciated and awarded different prizes by Prof. Dr. Ijaz Ahmad Chaudhary while all the other participants were given participation certificates. Overall it was a team effort of all the members of ASME UET chapter in organizing this event superbly.
