Welcome to the Cal Poly A.S.M.E. website!
Welcome to the Cal Poly student section of the American Society of Mechanical
Engineers, a non-profit student club created to help nurture and develop
the next generation of bright young engineers! Our mission is to bring together
our Mechanical engineering students and faculty and expose them to the engineering
business community. Together we form one dynamic organization. ASME is open
to aspiring engineers of all ages who are serious about their future in
this technical field. ASME is based on three fundamental concepts. First,
we create a social environment where engineers can gather and interact with
industry representatives and professors outside of the classroom. Second,
we learn from successful engineers who share their experience and provide
advice and mentorship for those of us beginning our careers. We build a
vast network of contacts by inviting cutting edge companies to come to San
Luis Obispo. And finally, we give back to the community by organizing events
that nurture our youngest generations, from elementary school to high school.
We teach them about engineering and encourage them to join the field.
This club is an incredible opportunity to learn first-hand from progressive
engineers and to develop your teamwork and leadership abilities. Since 1987
the success of our chapter has been proven year after year with record numbers
of members, but our future success rests with you. Volunteer involvement
guides the achievements of this club. Come join us and become part of a
life-long community that helps develop and fulfill your engineering aspirations.
