ASME Produces the Mechanical Engineering Booth for Building an Engineer Day
October 28th 2006, Cal Poly ASME hosted the mechanical engineering themed booth for SWE's Building an Engineer Day. Our project was a pool down which groups of kids raced sailboats being pushed by wind from two fans. The boats were pre-made, guide string installed, and the kids decided on a sail design. By calculating area's, we predicted the winner almost everytime. No one ended up falling into the pool thankfully. pictures

Where's the Sign?
You would look a little beat-up too if you sat outside for a few years! This past Saturday a couple of the officers got together to undertake day one of a two day restoration job on the sign, including a full tear-down, full sanding, priming, and painting. Will be back @ bldg 13 shortly... See our restoration pics
Diversity Action Grant
Awarded to ASME sections with outstanding ideas for outreach - to the community, women, and under-represented minorities. This year we did a projectile water balloon launch with simple projectile motion calculations for local middle-schoolers to do. They tried hitting a target 50 yards away on Dexter Lawn during the school day. Interested in working with the local community and making a difference? Join Cal Poly ASME! Pics
